FRIDAY

The buses departed and arrived safely and on time.  Everyone had to stay on the bus after arrival for about an hour until check in and room card passes could be distributed.

MONDAY

The schedule has been a hectic, but was modified to let everyone sleep in this morning.  They really  needed it!  Later today is the behind-the-scenes tour of the "Indianna Jones" set  with our own Mr. Ray Eddy!

TUESDAY

Back at 8:00 p.m., an HOUR EARLY!

UPDATES AFTER THE DISNEY TRIP MEETING, MARCH 19, 2007

Options for luggage on Friday during school:
--parent brings luggage to school at 12 pm
--leave luggage in car until 12 pm (those students who drive to school)
--bring luggage to band room and put in uniform room in the morning before school

Options for bookbag (and school books) during trip:
--parent takes bookbag and/or books when they bring student's luggage
--put bookbag and/or books in car
--put bookbag and/or books in uniform room when you get your luggage (you can get it when we return on Tuesday)
--Those students who aren't returning with the band on Tuesday (there are 14 of you) can take their bookbags with them.
--If you want to take your bookbag as your "carry-on" bag, but don't want to take your school books, bring a trashbag to empty your bookbag into or put your books in your instrument locker.

Blow dryer (the hotel will have only ONE in each room)
The hotel will provide shampoo, conditioner and soaps in each room, but may not be enough for 4 people.
You may want to pack a travel size bottle of shampoo and conditioner.
Chaperones will NOT have any type of over the counter medication to give out.  Please pack Tums, Tylenol, sinus medicine, etc. and put it in your carry on for the bus ride down.  The hotel gift shop will have some OTC medication available but you will need to have money to pay for it.

March 30 (FRI) 12:00 p.m. All band students leave class and report to AUDITORIUM.
  12:15 p.m. Load luggage and small instruments on buses.
  12:30 p.m. Pre-departure meeting in AUDITORIUM.
  1:00 p.m. Buses depart.
  6-7 p.m. Dinner stop (1 hour)—USE OWN MONEY
     
March 31 (SAT) 1:00 a.m. Arrive All-Star Resort and check into rooms.
  8:15 a.m. Catch bus to Epcot (Charter buses) (eat breakfast first)
  9:30 a.m. Workshop with Disney Master Musician (musicians only)
  5:00 p.m. Check-in with chaperone (SHOWCASE PLAZA - FRONT OF LAGOON)
  9:30 p.m. MEET CHAPERONE AT FOUNTAIN IN FRONT OF SPACESHIP EARTH TO RIDE DISNEY SHUTTLE BACK TO ALL-STAR SPORTS
  11:30 p.m. ROOM CHECK -- ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN THEIR OWN ROOMS FOR THE NIGHT
     
April 1  (SUN) 5:30 a.m Rise and Shine!!
  6:00 a.m. Load buses to Magic Kingdom for picture in front of Cinderella’s Castle (Charter buses)
  8:00 a.m. RETURN TO ALL-STAR SPORTS ON CHARTER BUSES.  Change and load uniforms into truck.  Eat breakfast and back to Magic Kingdom on Disney Shuttle.
  12:00 p.m. Lunch and check-in with chaperone (in front of SPACE MOUNTAIN)
  7:00 p.m. Meet at FRYE CART IN FRONTIERLAND to get ready for parade.
  8:30 p.m. MARCH IN PARADE
  12:00 a.m. MEET CHAPERONE AT WALT DISNEY AND MICKEY STATUE IN FRONT OF CASTLE TO RIDE DISNEY SHUTTLE BACK TO ALL-STAR SPORTS.
CHAPERONES WILL TAKE STUDENTS DIRECTLY TO THEIR ROOMS AND CHECK THEM IN FOR THE NIGHT.
     
April 2 (MON) 7:30 a.m. Catch DISNEY SHUTTLE to MGM Studios (eat breakfast before leaving)
  1:30 p.m. Lunch and check-in with chaperone AT INDIANA JONES SHOW AND BEHIND-THE-SCENES TOUR WITH MR. EDDY (SHOW STARTS AT 2:00 PM)
  5:30 p.m. GUARD MEETS AT MICKEY'S WIZARD HAT TO RIDE DISNEY SHUTTLE TO SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT FOR WORKSHOP (EAT DINNER FIRST) (GUARD WILL RETURN TO MGM AFTER WORKSHOP)
  9:15 p.m. CHECK IN WITH CHAPERONE AT FANTASMIC (WATCH FIREWORKS AND RIDE DISNEY SHUTTLE BACK TO ALL-STAR SPORTS)

  5:00 p.m. Dinner stop (1 hour)—USE OWN MONEY
  9:00 p.m. Arrive at Apex High School
     
Park Hours:

March 31 - Epcot - Future World open 9 am till 7 pm and World Showcase 11 am till 9 pm.  Illuminations is at 9 pm in the World Showcase. 

April 1 - Magic Kingdom - 8 am till 11 pm - extra Magic Hours for those staying at a Disney owned property keeps the park open till 2am.  Spectromagic Parade is at 9 pm and 11 pm and fireworks are at 10 pm. 

April 2 - MGM - 9 am till 10 pm - extra Magic Hours for those staying at a Disney owned property opens the park at 8 am.  Stars & Cars parade is at 3 pm.  Fantasmic fireworks show is at 8:30 pm and 10pm.

These forms need to be completed and turned in to Mr. Rowe by the next Band Booster Meeting on January 9, 2006.  The last trip payment is also due on this date.

 

Apex High School Band, Disney World Trip
General Outline

Dates:
Departure from Apex High—March 30, 2007 around 12:00 pm
Arrival at Apex High—April 3, 2007 around 9:00 pm

Who:
Any student who participates in any Apex High Band

Accommodations:
All-Star Resort

Tentative Itinerary:
One day in each of the 3 main parks
Magic Kingdom—picture in front of castle; parade down Main Street
Epcot—workshop
MGM—behind-the-scenes tour of Indiana Jones with Ray Eddy

Cost: (based on filling all 3 buses—could be more if we don’t fill the buses)
Students (quad occupancy)--$425.00
Includes bus, $100 meal card, 3 day Park admission (no park hopping), one workshop and room and tax.
Chaperones (double occupancy)--$420.00
Includes bus, 3 day Park admission (no park hopping) and room and tax. (No meals included) The cost of the bus will be subtracted if you don’t ride the bus.

Payment Schedule: (all payments are non-refundable)
1st Payment--$75.00 due September 26
2nd Payment--$100.00 due November 14
3rd Payment--$100.00 due December 12
4th Payment--$150.00 (or balance if trip costs more due to buses) due on January 9 (The reason this payment is the highest is to give people the opportunity to do more fundraising.)
UPDATE: FINAL PAYMENT AMOUNT IS $154.00

Other:

bulletAll students must ride the bus down to Disney. They don’t need to ride the bus back, but need to be signed out.
bulletStudents should bring money to eat while traveling down and back (3 meals).
bulletPaperwork (permission slip, behavior contract, etc.) will be filled out at a later date.
bulletPlease use the payment coupons attached (Note: coupons are in reverse order and should be cut from the bottom first) and mail payments in time to reach us by the deadlines. The due dates are all Booster Meetings (the first one is a Band Booster Board Meeting), so your payments can also be brought to the meetings.
