With consistent Superior ratings, our band program is brimming with talented performers. Come and see our performances in Concert Band, Honors Wind Ensemble, Volunteer Jazz and Pep Bands, and our elite Marching Band and Color Guard, all of which are under the dynamic and talented leadership of Mr. Paul Rowe. During the 2011-2012, the AHS Marching Band took home THREE Grand Champions - the most ever in one season.

2013 Drumline Auditions are May 28-30

2013 Visual Ensemble Tryouts Begin April 30

 

Visual Ensemble Auditions begin April 30. Anyone is invited to audition although you must attend all audition dates! Everyone auditioning will be required to learn flag basics with some choreography. A Dance Ensemble is an extension of the Visual Ensemble and will have dance features throughout the marching show. Dancers will be required to perform a separate audition as part of the regular audition process. Download more information here. 

Audition dates are as follows:

Tuesday – April 30 4:30-7:00

Wednesday – May 1st 4:30-7:00

Thursday – May 2nd 4:30-7:00

Tuesday – May 7th 4:30-7:00

Wednesday – May 8th 4:30-7:00

Thursday – May 9th 4:30-7:00

Raven McNulty Makes the Southwest Wake News

Letter of Congratulations from the N.C. Music Educators Association

 

On Monday, Nov. 12, the Apex High School Wind Ensemble, assisted by the Apex High School Orchestra, attended the 2012 N.C. Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Winston-Salem. This letter of congratulations from the association's president explains how impressed he and the other executive officers were with the wind ensemble and orchestra's performance. Participating students should be very proud!

 


Transferring Student Account Funds

If you would like to transfer funds form your student's account to pay for payments due to the Band Boosters, you must submit your request in writing to treasurer Lois Williams via email or snail mail. 

 


Renting an Instrument?

If your student is renting an instrument for marching band or academic band this year, instrument rental forms are available at school. If your student plays both the trombone and baritone and needs to rent both instruments, there are two rental fees.
